Cour Napoléon, northern Richelieu wing. Rebuilt as part of Napoleon III's new Louvre by his architect Hector-Martin Lefuel in the Second Empire style (1850s), integrating parts of the north wing dating from the First Empire. Second Empire architectural style is characterized by the mansard roof, dormers, classical cornices, central projecting pavilions, and pedimented windows and doors.
