The Beaux-Arts style, classically inspired Great Hall at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (designed by architect Richard Morris Hunt, 1902) serves as the museum's main entry, marking the intersection of the stairway up to the European painting galleries and the Egyptian, Greek and Roman galleries to the north and south.
