Vesuvio Bakery

Established by the Dapolito family, Vesuvio Bakery made bread and biscuits in its SoHo shop on Prince Street for nearly 90 years, since 1920. In 2009, City Bakery's offshoot Birdbath opened in the old Vesuvio Bakery space when it closed, preserving the historic shop and storefront. Proprietor Maury Rubin continues the tradition of the small neighborhood bakery with scones, cookies and espresso.
