The World Financial Center Winter Garden, located in Lower Manhattan's Battery Park City, overlooks the World Trade Center site, Hudson River and other areas of downtown New York City. Designed by architect Cesar Pelli (reopened September, 2002), the atrium's sunny, barrel-vaulted interior, similar in size to the Grand Central Terminal concourse, features a palm court of 40-foot Washingtonia robusta palms. The light, accessible building facilitates public use and often doubles as a concert auditorium and event exhibition space.
